Advertising spend

Companies spend heavily on marketing & advertisements.

The Renault ad starting Ranbir Kapoor has a catchy tune... Re re raftaar...
While the song is good, will that alone sell Renault KWID cars?

Hardly any one seems to be raising red flag on the amount of money spent on marketing products.

I was disappointed to see, Shahrukh Khan selling us bigbasket.com and Prabhas standing next to new Mahindra SUV.

Money spent by real estate firms with all the glossy brochures, weekend mela's and lobbying to cut interest rates seems really obscene. This, when the shares prices are at multi year lows & firms are defaulting on loans.
Banks, if truly interested to get their (rather our,.. Depositors) money back, can simply ask realty firms to pay the ad money against loan payments.

Vasanth rao

Ua vasanth Rao is now with Bangalore metro.
This person is very interesting character.
Last time, he was with BBMP (Bangalore City Corporation, BCC then), he was instrumental in selling a booklet priced at 100 Rupees. The book was on self assessment tax. Sales of that booklet had fetched nearly 6-7 crores to BCC. This was when the very implementation of the act was suspect.

The book proved of no use to the tax paying public.

Now, it will be interesting to see, what revenue gathering tricks this beaurocrat has under his sleeve.
